CareMed Primary and Urgent Care is now able to provide COVID-19 Antibody testing service to its patients. According to the FDA, COVID-19 antibody testing may indicate that “the person has been exposed to the virus and developed antibodies against it, which may mean that person has at least some immunity to the coronavirus.” Antibody testing uses blood serum specimens and is sometimes referred to as serology testing.
Test is available only to patients who: are asymptomatic; have been asymptomatic for at least 10 days; and lack a fever.
Testing is available at CareMed’s all 6 locations in Suffolk County.

CareMed’s response to coronavirus
All CareMed Primary and Urgent Care locations are open during NY State’s lockdown. If you would like to be seen by a provider in one of our offices, we want to assure that we are here to provide you the care you need. For the safety of our patients and staff, we are taking the following measures:
- We have enhanced our buildings’ cleaning protocols to include more frequent sanitizing, cleaning of patient waiting areas, exam rooms, and medical equipment.
- We only allow 2-3 patients at a time in our waiting areas with chairs placed at least 6 feet apart to maintain social distance. Additional patients have to wait outside in their vehicle for their turn to be seen.
- We are requesting patients with COVID-19 symptoms to not enter the building and wait in their cars while our healthcare professionals perform screening over the phone.
- CareMed is also offering Tele-Visits where our providers reach out to you virtually through your phone and provide a diagnosis and medication.
